I have a style confession: when I graduated college more than a decade ago, I immediately went to a few shops because they felt adult and professional. Ann Taylor was one of them. And, then somehow along the way it just wasn’t for me. It felt too classic corporate, a little bit older and the shapes weren’t exactly fitting me. I started walking by it in the mall, and did so for about a decade (being honest). But… a year to 18 months ago I’ve become increasingly impressed, starting to shop it online and in-store. It’s been clear they are making a concerted effort to appeal to the real women — professional yet social, many also running a household, and definitely on the go — and I’ve been increasingly veering back in. I have some purchases I adore, and have definitely gotten big compliments on, too.
The Fall collection is excellent, and I’m excited that as part of a two-part series, TAGG will share two outfits, featuring pieces with infinite style potential. It was so rough narrowing down because there is so much there right now! I’ve learned that investing in high quality pieces like these that transition from work to preschool pick-up to weekend wear is critical. These totally fit the bill (and they’re so cute, to boot!).
When looking through my closet I realized I have way too many cotton tees/tanks and not enough great camisoles/shells/blouses that seamlessly transition from work to weekend. I so drawn at stores — and especially during these sales — to pick up easy tees, stripes and other casual pieces. Since I work though in an office five days a week, these don’t really enhance my wardrobe. I’m getting tough on myself (I’ve even returned a few new-ish pieces that fit into the later category) to find more styles like this Ann Taylor tank. Obsessed in a major way. Not only do I have a thing for white anything, this top goes equally as perfectly with these Gap shorts as it does with dressier pants, or jeans. I’m letting this piece be the reminder I need for how my closet needs to transition. Baby steps.

I have a confession to make: I wore this outfit this past weekend however there’s no way this sweater made it’s way out the door for more than these photos. It’s still nearly 80 degrees here so sweater weather has been scarce. Since yours truly has been a bit bored continuing to show outfits for my climate when other bloggers get to have fun with layering, coats, and winter clothes and hues. So hoping you’ll pardon this mini style fib for the sake for a more interesting outfit! Ha. With my daughter’s birthday tomorrow and her little party yesterday (gymnastics with a Little Mermaid theme; after all, as she points out, Ariel has red hair just like my girl), it’s been a little nuts over here but totally worth it. Now, if only the temperatures would cool down. #afloridagirlcandream
