When it comes to lips each day, the debate: lipstick, lipgloss, chap stick, you name it. I have an embarrassing number of lip products in my purse, in my make-up bag, in my drawer near my make-up bag. It’s kind of insane, if we’re being honest.  Do you feel the same? I’m always testing out a new hue or a new brand.

So when Refinery29 asked if I’d like to test out Maybelline Color Elixir™ by Color Sensational® gloss, I was instantly game.  This stuff is magic. Not joking. It’s a brilliant cross between lipgloss — super soft texture — with the rich color and staying power of a traditional lip stick. You get some hydrating qualities and these bold colors fully make a statement against some of the more muted winter colors. Here are my lips in “signature scarlet” from this post last week. See how it has that bit of shimmer in the mix? So pretty.

Below are the three colors I sampled. That’s the signature scarlet on the left, raspberry rhapsody on the right, and fuchsia flourish on the bottom. I’ve been on a mission to go more bold with my lips and this is a great solution… the glossy texture makes me feel like I’m wearing a lighter hue that I’m actually wearing. I’ve been living up the bright pink with darker neutrals, and I also love this red. Truth be told, I’ve only braved the raspberry in my home; it’s so pretty but the purply color — while totally on trend — is bit more out of this average girl’s comfort zone. Destined to get there though… the color is probably my favorite of the mix!

It’s been too long since our round-up of favorite beauty products. I’ve been mixing up routines and sampling new products, and can’t wait to share these latest finds. This new shampoo + conditioner combo — both with more natural ingredients — has made my hair look better, strong and less frazzled at the ends than I’ve seen in a long time. And, the eyebrow powder? I’ve been using it for a year but lately felt like the color looked a little grey-ish/muddy on me. It’s funny what a color change can do… the new hue is perfection for my dark reddish brown brows. Plus, use the swirly side not only to brush your brows but also to remove any stray powder from your skin/browbone area.

Check out TAGG’s favorites, and then spill it in the comment section… what are your favorite products for fall?

Talk about the difference a mani makes! Swear I can rule the world when my nails look good. While I rarely have time to get a mani (or even do my nails), I’m always immediately reminded about how they make every outfit look totally complete, and how everything looks more… well, polished. I’ve been doing white nails for months now so when I had the opportunity to partner with Revlon to share how I style a deeper red for Fall, I took the plunge.

This color, #230 Satellite, part of Revlon’s Moon Candy line, is so good. Love the deep burgundy/oxblood color, that feels way more versatile and work appropriate compared to brighter reds. This is two coats, which gives a great luster. Be sure to check my Instagram feed for how I add these pretty glitter flecks….  I had an insane work week filled with formal meetings or prospective client meetings so I opted for the more traditional, however these gorgeous flecks are fully the perfect topper to kick off the weekend (and to cover any chips that arise after a crazy week of work, and typing!).

Best Beauty Finds for Summer

face:
laura mercier second skin cheek colour: like a “natural glow,” only better. Lotus Pink is my favorite!
the balm mary lou manizer: I got this highlighter in my Birchbox ages ago but just started playing with it…  fully hooked. Add it under your brows and in the inner corner of your eyes for instant brightness. It’s a neutral highlighter so no worries about a white tint. Addicted.
benefit they’re real mascara: a cult favorite, I can now see why. Can’t get enough of this stuff for a major lashes.
neutrogena naturals purifying face cleanser: immediately loved the super clean feeling it delivers — without drying out your skin — when I picked this up last week in Vermont.
red apple lip exfoliator: Designed for your lips by a brand that boasts a “gluten-free” lip line, I’m impressed how it made my lips softer, and makes bright lipsticks prettier on my lips (never want dry lips and bright lipstick!). A keeper.

hair:
drybar morning after shower cap: excellent banding really prevents water and steam from seeping in during showers. I found a similar version for less years ago at Sally Hansen but this is the closest thing I’ve found since. Well worth the mini investment if to help you go longer between washes.
beauty protector protect and detangle: the perfect on-the-go, multi-tasking product. Heat protectant, detangler and all-around awesomeness.
davines love smoothing shampoo: don’t let the plain bottle deceive you; this stuff is good. It’s natural (including the bottle), and majorly smooths out those pesky frizzes.
ojon damage reverse instant hair serum: I’ve been using this along the davines shampoo and my hair never has been less frizzy — and it’s summer in Florida! Can’t vouch this is totally responsible but I’m confident these its taming oils have been hugely helpful!
