I can’t believe we’re about ready to say goodbye to 2014. I’m already looking ahead to 2015 with goals of everything from more family time to reaching new blogging milestones and personal resolutions that run the gamut. While some are deeply personal, others are definitely more fun: last year, for example, I resolved to learn how to make my hair curly. I did it, and feel so proud that I even get compliments every so often {Makes me feel like I saved myself $35 in a blow out!}. Looking ahead, Target asked me to share with you my 2015 beauty resolution.
My goal: to really learn how to do my eye make-up.  I’ll be 35 years old in March so now is as good of time as any, right? I often see women who look polished with either a more defined or smoky eye, or a bold lip. I’ve been working on wearing lipstick more often — this and defining your brows make a world of difference! — so now I’m ready to master this eye stuff. For initial inspiration, I went to YouTube for the best tutorials (highly recommend this four-minute video as a starting point), and then I spent considerable time reading reviews and checking out the best products to accomplish my look — without breaking the bank. Between personal favorites and ones I’ve heard are the best, here are TAGG’s key beauty essentials to creating the perfect eye.
anastasia eye brow color and brush: my personal favorites to enhance my naturally light brows
nyx brow shaper: my brow gal, Connie, swears by this big time, and she got me hooked on their other products; excellent quality and even better price point.
trish mcevoy eye shadow brightener and primer: in my cart after reading the reviews.
the balm highlighter: dab in the corners and under your brow bone, and this one is good for cheekbones, too! Plus, it’s all natural. I love this brand.
eyelash curler: a must to open up your eyes. The 10 seconds is worth it.
clinique high impact mascara: an updated on a classic for good reason.
e.l.f. precision liquid eyeliner: line your upper lid to really make it pop.
eyeshadow palette: every hue you need all in one convenient palette
nyx jumbo eye pencil: fool-proof solution if you’re nervous about application.
So that’s my game plan! I feel a major sense of victory that I accomplished the curly/wavy hair and here’s to hoping (and lots of practice!) that I can accomplish this. Watching the videos is really helpful so definitely share any YouTubers that you love. And, do you have beauty, or style, resolutions you’re ready to put out there?

I’m with you. I learned to flatiron my hair this year - and then add some curl. Added days to my wash. Literally. And this year? We’re in it together. GOOD EYES OR BUST!

I love doing eye-makeup…especially a smokey eye. It makes me feel a sense of accomplishment and it’s so fun once you learn how! Maybe you’ll share a tutorial when you have it down?
