Each weekend I can’t get into my shorts quickly enough in order to battle Florida’s super steamy summer conditions. I used to live in jeans and capris but this summer, it’s all about the shorts. They’re just so much comfier, and more breathable. I’ve upgraded my collection this season ranging from casual cut-offs to floral print and even a pair or two worthy of a night out. When selecting shorts, be mindful of the rise, the tush and the inseam. All of those details are personal so pay attention to what’s best for you. For example, I used to opt for a 5″ inseam but now realize that a 3 1/2 or 4″ is best for my legs. I often wear tops half tucked or more flowy to be sure I’m not showing too much skin. Have fun with shorts this summer; just remember to be age appropriate (tip: you can definitely score a deal or a cute style in a juniors department, just be sure the length is not too short, and the rise is not too high — hard for most to pull off!).
