With the weather warming up — even in Florida it changes, from warm-ish to hard-to-breathe-humid! — I’m beginning to changing my beauty routine, trying new products and playing around with different make-up colors. Sephora currently has its annual 15% off (code: CHIC) sale, so now is as good as time as any to add a few updates to your beauty arsenal, especially for those items that rarely, if ever, go on sale! Here’s a few new favorites, and one or two classics, we’re coveting.
Marc Jacobs Daisy Sunshine: mmm, this smells so pretty! It captures summer in a bottle with vibrant juicy notes like guava, apricot and lychee. I currently have a small sample size of this and love. {if sold out at Sephora, try Macy’s, where there’s usually a promo going on, too!}
Benefit Fake-Up Concealer: with promises that it won’t cake, crease or settle, this hot new concealer offers ultra-hydrating power while keeping dark circles at bay. I’ve at this at the top of my list since hearing about it last month — and getting rave reviews from two friends — so I’m pulling the trigger as soon as my current concealer runs out a bit more.
Bite lip tint: exclusive to Sephora, the brand’s all-natural products have food-grade ingredients. Woah, once I start thinking about, wouldn’t I want all my lip products to be like this quality? {there’s some crazy/startling statistic about how much lipstick women eat in a year! I digress!}. The moisturizer in the middle ensures your lips won’t dry out and the colors Orchard and Watermelon are gorgeous for spring. Color, but not over-the-top.
Essie Marshmallow: this never gets old. Even has other gals were wearing the darkest polishes this winter, my nails stayed light with this pretty white. Promise it’s not at all like using white out on your fingers! As a girl with dark-ish veins on her hand, I found that darker colors made them more pronounced; this does the opposite, plus feels crisp and chic, and goes with everything.
Clinique Dark Spot Concealer: I’m seriously considering this during the Sephora sale because I hear it makes a major impact on dark spots, old acne spots, etc. I have faded acne scars from those awesome teenage years (insert sarcasm!), and even a tiny scar on my cheek that I, for ages, felt self conscious about. Without these faded marks I just might venture out for an errand without foundation. I’m also really curious about this Clinique dark circles reducer… anyone try??
St. Ives Green Tea Scrub: a drugstore bargain with good reason! I’m a huge fan of St. Ives (hello, under $7 for quality products), and this is a latest favorite. Has little exfoliator beads but gentle enough even for every day use. An insta-reader suggested leaving it on in the shower for 2-3 minutes to utilize like a mask!
Olay Age Defying Instant Hydration Eye Cream: In just one week I’m already seeing some minor minimization to the wrinkles around my eyes. Looks like the moisturizing is starting to temporarily plump up the area and for $13.99, I’ll take it! Olay has such an excellent reputation so I’m excited to see how this continues to work.
Sonia Kashuk creme blush: OMG. So I received this during my trip to Target HQ earlier this year but somehow stashed it away. Until two weeks ago. Cheek changer! This looks goes on creamy but stays put with a dewey matte finish all day. It’s beautiful. I’m a cream blush convert!
