west elm

I’m having a white lacquer moment. Anyone else with me? I just learned this weekend that apparently my little girl furniture was white lacquer. How do I not remember this and why is it not stored somewhere! The horror. Alas, I digress.

Right now I’m especially loving the white lacquer against contrasting colored walls (my office is dark grey and I’m dying for a white lacquer rectangular dining room table enclosed in rich navy walls! Divine). In my hunt for all things white lacquer I came thisclose to purchasing the awesome West Elm parsons desk pictured below (I instead went with the larger Z Gallerie Jett) however we need new desks for the new office space and I’m all about these again. Well, until I found the identical desk — with killer reviews — on Overstock. Not surprising since Overstock is where I also found our West Elm-duped leather chairs.

Ogle: West Elm ($349) // Own: Overstock ($144)

PS: speaking of offices, as I mentioned last week I moved into new office space from a home office. This means that everything — computer included — is gone. While I’m about to take the plunge with a MacBook (yay!) I currently cannot blog at night when I usually do. Kind of devastating for moi. Hang on tight… will do my best to get a blog post a day to you!

Chevron Happiness

February 9, 2012

I’m in chevron happiness overload right now. If it’s zig-zagged I want it. Clothes. Accessories. Bedding. You name it.  One chevron item that’s about to be mine? This dreamy organic duvet from West Elm. I’ve been eying it for our guest room for months and months and we’re finally ready for this to make it’s way home to our house.

Want more chevron finds? How great is this chevron pouf, among others?

Plus, check out these two gaw-geous finds from Target: this gold chevron lamp shade and pillow (also available in gold and blue) are killer however they’re sold exclusively in store.

While it’s definitely overload to buy it all, having a few key pieces throughout the house, even in different colors yet the same pattern, can totally make your look more cohesive.
