wedges

Sarah of Chevrons & Stripes made a really good point during a recent outfit post that I didn’t touch on yet is the exact reason why I bought years ago the white espadrilles in the post. They are leg lengthening. As someone who was at one point 35 pounds heavier than I am now, I totally understand that many women avoid any shoes with straps around their ankles because it can make legs appear shorter any stockier. No one wants that! Finding wedges and shoes sans the straps are much more universally flattering, especially depending on your height and shape. Check out these espadrille wedge options if you want a stylish look for summer (you’ll have any pair here for years!) that keeps you on trend while showing off your gorgeous legs.

Can you believe that next week will be July? Insane! Today, TAGG is bringing you a casual summer look that can be a total go-to for a casual work environment or for the weekend; simply swap out the wedges for sandals if you’re not great on-the-go with anything that has height. Loving the easy going nature of this skirt paired with a contrasting colored belt. And is it me, or does summer make me want to own about seven gazillion white tees? They go with everything and just feel lighter when it’s scorching hot out. This tee is perfect with black work pants and  a cardigan for weekday and my cut-offs when it’s the weekend.

tee: j. crew (2012, similar via gap) // skirt: target (similar floral fun for under $20!) // wedges: mia rhodes (seen here and here) // tote: michael kors // bracelets: mimi boutique, antique market and derng // watch: michael kors (obsessed with white watches and accessories!) //

Are you the type of person who swears that black can’t mix with brown or that your bag must match your shoes? Break that habit. You no longer need to worry about those formal style rules. Rich camel browns that are light enough (to create color contrast) pair gorgeously with black and other neutrals (remember my fall black dress/brown boots look as an example?).

Want the style created for you? Try two-tone shoes. They’re popping up everywhere so they’re forcing you to embrace the new style feet first! I couldn’t resist the heeled pair below from Target earlier this the week; I’ve worn them twice in four days! They go with absolutely everything, they’re so cute (I don’t think the picture does them justice) and truth: the comfiest! Great support with the straps around the ankle and the heel is not too high. If shoes are not for you, add a camel brown belt to a black dress or with black slacks and a colorful top (I suggest fun stripes or florals for summer!).

Here’s a few two- (or three!)-tone shoe options: flat, wedge and heel!

Flat: Zara two-tone sandal ($49.95) // Wedge: Sam Edelman Sophie // Heel: Target’s Merona Edith ($24.99, also comes in black)
