Truth be told, I’ve unnecessarily been eyeing the lamp on the left and pretty much the entire web site of Lulu & Georgia for an embarrassingly long time. They have such good home decor….the rugs, art, accessories, totally worth it — all feel original and special. Be careful: the site has become a time warp there’s so much home eye candy. That said, do I neeeeed to spend $400 right now on a set of lamps for our master bedroom? I have a lot of other spaces I’d like to invest in.
Enter, this own-worthy version. While the shape is not identical, it’s the closest match with the gold/bronze base detail and overall feel that I’ve found in a long time. The navy set with this white shade is in my cart, and feeling confident it will add the perfect color punch with our light grey walls, white duvet and orange x-benches for less than half the price of the version I’ve been ogling.

Among my greatest joys are a) finding an awesome item I’ve been coveting (clothes, tech, kid’s stuff, anything!) on a major sale, or b) scoping out a less expensive, identical version of a pricey find, as evidenced in today’s post.
I have the short-sleeve version of this top — a Madewell sale purchase last year — and when I stumbled across this Forever 21 find over the weekend I totally had had a moment. The quality in-store looks really good. Tops like this are super versatile… as cozy as a t-shirt but way better. Wear it now with shorts in any color, and then pair it later with denim or cords (in another hue), and totally love it with leather shorts or skirt, and a chunky necklace.

As much as I want to hold on to summer, I’m also desperately ready for cozy knits, booties and everything else Fall. It’s just such a gorgeous time of year. Booties are such an excellent transitional piece because simply swap out your flip flops or sandals for booties — be it with skirts, shorts, skinny or cuffed boyfriend denim — and bam, it’s like you planned for Fall! I’ve lusted after these Rag and Bone booties for a few seasons now but the nearly $500 price tag is way out of my reach/ability to justify. Buuuutttt… that doesn’t mean I can’t get the look for less! When it comes to home decor, West Elm, Crate & Barrel, and Z Gallerie are among TAGG favorites for home decor. They’re contemporary, on-trend (but not trendy) and all have a number of reasonable finds. At the same time, you want to save when you can so I was pleasantly surprised by a new-ish-to-me-store, Kirkland’s, which had a lot of similar finds for less. Check out two lamp options below. The two on the top “Own” are rockin’ my world — hello, cork shade and a glass bottle base on the other. The bubble lamp on the bottom can be found all over now, but how pretty is this modern/vintage find?
