Ever have those days where you feel like you’re trying to dress for multiple occasions? Business meeting and cocktails, or super casual meeting and then a fancier lunch meeting? I swear this happens nearly weekly by working with such a range of clients, but this time of year it can be crazier than ever. One perk? Somehow sequins — in moderation and in the right context — somehow become work appropriate! This skirt from last year has become an instant favorite for this exact reason, and despite it being a bit warmer in Florida than elsewhere (anyone else see that map image floating around on Facebook about how everyone hates our warm weathered state?!), it’s fun to put on a pair of booties and light-weight sweater for that holiday feel.
SEQUINS FOR WORK TIPS: If you do sequins, do it sparingly and make sure the rest of your outfit is more covered and work appropriate. A sequin shell topped with a blazer or cardigan is another instant win. Wear sequined heels, or find a bag with a bit of glam. You know what works best in your office, however if you think there’s wiggle room, now’s the time to make it work!

Hallelujah! Florida dipped below 80 degrees for a few days and well, you should see what happens around here: boots, scarves… I’m surprised I didn’t see gloves! It’s kind of insane but we have to do it up when we can. I’ve been dying to wear these new boots from Naturalizer for nearly two months so the weather change was a welcome. I honestly haven’t shopped in Naturalizer in years but how good are these?! I might have squealed when I opened the box! The luxe camel color is perfection, the leather is so good (you can smell it when you first get them; love that) and they’re super flattering.
I love pairing brown boots with black so here you go… black quasi pant/leggings + a white tee (yes, it’s like I’m practically in pajamas. amazing), plus a cozy new cardigan I just scooped up on Black Friday. So easy. Pair these boots with tights and a cute dress or skirt + denim or plaid button down. Everyone has a pair like this, right? My old pair was more brown so I couldn’t be happier with this upgrade.

Yeah, my closet has quite a few of them but the hunt is still always on. Some are too dressy, some are too work/conservative and others… well, they might not fit at the moment. I was semi stress shopping earlier this week for a dress to wear to a bat mitzvah and lunch reception and stumbled across this gorgeous thing (here for petites). Little leopard with my lbd? Yes, please! The fit is awesome, the quality is there, the reviews are all five stars, and the leopard with gold zipper detail are so chic.  If you’re interested, I bought a size 4P; perfectly balanced my smaller top, and hit my leg above the knee.
Glam it up for holiday cocktails or add a blazer for the office (covers the leopard) and play around with the accessories: booties, heels, earrings or bling bracelet stack (this + this); they each work to make it more edgy or classic. Take advantage while Ann Taylor is offering up 40% on your purchase with code GIFT3… this dress will be in rotation for years.
I have the hardest time finding pants that fit well. Doesn’t help that I have quite a few pairs in my closet that no longer fit, or at least fit the way they should. Since I’m finally coming to terms with that reality, I’ve starting purchasing a few pairs of new bottoms to diversify my wardrobe (can’t be a million tops and two bottoms!). These Gap khakis are my happy new addition. They’re cozy and totally perfect with flats, yet can still head to work with a pair of heels. And, ps: I’m totally addicted to this burgundy hue, particularly when it’s paired with leopard. Have you tried this pairing yet?
