For our third fall style installment with T.J.Maxx, the brand suggested we focus on print mixing. When I saw this dress it felt like an instant homerun; it’s complementary prints in one, with this super fun hemline that adds awesome visual interest. It’s also hard to tell but that black detail by my shoulder is actually a bit of super soft faux leather. I can already envision wearing this with a black blazer (maybe the one from this last T.J.Maxx post?) to give myself more coverage the temps cool down (hopefully!), and also with tights and booties around December and January.
Another perk of a great print? The color options! The accessories here are neutral — this bag is absolutely my new favorite! — but I’d love to play up the dress colors with accessories, including my nails. For example, how cute would it be if my toes were a hot pink? T.J.Maxx had so many designer-brand polishes that would be great.
… more pics, after the jump!
PS: when you see a motorcycle that fully coordinates with your outfit, how do you say no to taking photos next to it? You don’t. Clearly my enormous smile in this next picture says it all. {wonder who owns this… }
Can we talk for a second about how luxe each of these pieces look? I’m continually impressed with how on-trend yet affordable the quality pieces are at T.J.Maxx. There are pieces at all price points and a range of brands… and they’re this season’s styles. Years ago I always thought/assumed the store only sold items from a season or two ago — and that’s why we got the deal — and while there might be some (heck, I’m all for getting a steal on quality classics!), it’s totally pieces of the moment. I’m seeing it more and more when looking for these trends. I must bring 20 items into the dressing room…. I just might succumb to one of their handy carts. Yesterday would have been a good day: two dresses, a shirt, a picture frame, a pumice stone to test, a pair of flats and this clutch!
Expressing yourself through fashion, and knowing how to put together a great look—at great value, is what being a Maxxinista is all about.
