On Saturday, we attended a dinner party at my husband’s boss’ house. Style eek! For events like this you want to impress, now show too much, look mature (especially if you look young like me and know that most guests will be older) yet showcase your personality. Pulling an LBD out of my closet would have been an easy go-to, however while at H&M to pick up a lace skirt I had on hold I eyed this lace dress. It fit me well (well, at least during the two seconds I had in the fitting room!) so I went for it. I see a million of ways to style this, and in fact, don’t know that this first attempt will be my favorite. I literally had two minutes to throw myself together. Can anyone else relate?! This average girl had a less than average-amount of time to get her tush out the door!
This is me smiling at my daughter (I think I make this face quite often!):
I’ve been dying to add more lace to my wardrobe for spring — no joke, like stalking it out — so obviously this dress was an automatic home run. In truth, it was the contrast of the demure front with the slightly sexier back (plus a gold zipper, love!).
And say hello to my birthday gift, my new Louis Vuitton clutch that’s a fuschia/red color. Quality clutches that will stand the test of time have been at the tops of my wardrobe musts list for a long time. The LV epi leather is so gorgeous up close.
