madewell

scalloped dress by j crew Ever have one of those nuts days that beyond preparing for a million things, you’re not sure what outfit will work for all of the above? That was last Wednesday, when I had a blogger breakfast date, three work meetings all over the place, and then two birthday dinners. Yup, two. My mother in law’s at 6 pm, and a good friend’s at 7:30 pm. Luckily they were at restaurants across the street from each other! What do you wear to all of this? My solution: this dress. We scored a J. Crew Factory when the Palm Beach Outlets opened last month (yay!) and this dress was a must. It’s the exact style I admired at J. Crew last year, and regretted never pulling the trigger. As soon as I saw it, on sale no less, I knew it would be mine. Keep Reading —>>

T-shirts serve a great purpose. They’re functional, cozy and are great for layering. But rarely do I find a tee that I’d also wear to work and not feel like it’s casual Friday (and even then its best to top it with a blazer or cardigan).  I first spied this shirt on Madewell’s web site months ago but since we don’t have a Madewell here, I’m not familiar enough with its sizing and it was a bit more than I wanted to spend, so sadly I passed. The style god’s must have been watching because during my trip to NYC last month, I spotted this shirt on sale! It was love at first sight. The small fit perfectly so I snatched it up immediately – and got one for Kim, too, who is styling it today on her blog, too! I love her glammed up version with those hot heels. She keeps reminding me I need a perfect trench.

The pattern mixing on this shirt is perfect. Wear it with white, with boyfriend denim, with casual chino shorts or go dressier with a colored skirt or pants to the office.  Add great accessories to pull out the hues – for example, I almost opted for a chunky green necklace but went more neutral so it wasn’t too matchy-matchy with this this clutch.

Outfit: Winter Casual

November 19, 2012

I have a confession to make: I wore this outfit this past weekend however there’s no way this sweater made it’s way out the door for more than these photos. It’s still nearly 80 degrees here so sweater weather has been scarce. Since yours truly has been a bit bored continuing to show outfits for my climate when other bloggers get to have fun with layering, coats, and winter clothes and hues. So hoping you’ll pardon this mini style fib for the sake for a more interesting outfit! Ha. With my daughter’s birthday tomorrow and her little party yesterday (gymnastics with a Little Mermaid theme; after all, as she points out, Ariel has red hair just like my girl), it’s been a little nuts over here but totally worth it. Now, if only the temperatures would cool down. #afloridagirlcandream
