printed shift dress // the average girl's guide

You know you’ve made a good clothing decision when you’re wearing the items inside the package one minute after opening it! Earlier this week, I had the girls over for a mani party (seen on Instagram; post on Monday) when I felt like nothing in my closet worked. Hate that feeling. My husband brought in the mail including a package from White Plum; I opened it and immediately took off my shirt — in the kitchen mind you! — and put on the new blouse (now sold out;  same style as this and more here) and now this dress is a new favorite….. the print, the fit, the ability to mix so many colors with shoes and accessories, and I can take it from work to weekend. I just wore this yesterday. I now desperately need more interesting blouses in my life — this girl has splurged on one too many sale t-shirts in the past.

After seeing bloggers style cute piece from White Plum I was eager to test it out, as I know many of us, myself included, can be hesitant to order from online boutiques new to us. I’m really impressed. The quality of the clothes was impressively good, particularly for the price point, and the shipping and service has been great. See pieces you love? White Plum is generously offering TAGG readers 20% discount; use code AVERAGEGIRL through 10/3.

PS: before you go, can I rave about these mulesI stumbled across them while doing some ‘online browsing’ and I’m so glad I did… the mule is so in for fall, yet the lighter color is way more wearable than even I anticipated. I have to hold myself back from not wearing these daily. They work with dresses, skirts and even cropped pants. At under $60 (now half off!), they’re a major style win.

Thanks so much! Totally agree that the nude was the better way to go (fighting the urge to add more color into the mix!). :)

A very good sign indeed - and there is nothing worse than feeling like you’ve got nothing to wear. This print is gorgeous and white plums pieces are so affordable!

You look fantastic! I feel like the belt really ties the whole look together! But those mules-I might need to get those. I love the peep toe ankle boots, but by the end of the day, the fronts of my ankles are really sore-does that happen to anyone else? This looks like a better option :-)

    • AvgGirlsGuide

Right? I borrowed the belt from my friend a week earlier and kind of never want to return it. :) Can’t recommend the mules enough, if you’re on the fence. I wanted a more fall-type nude shoe that was work or weekend appropriate and this totally fits the bill, and yes, way comfier than ankle boots. Some of them kill!

Oh man, I think I’m gonna go for it on the shoes! You’ve sold me. Did you get your normal size? Also yeah you should definitely tell your friend it would be wrong to separate the dress and belt, I’m sure she’ll understand haha!

        • AvgGirlsGuide

LOL, I’m sure she’ll understand. ;) And, yes… I went with my normal size. If you’re between I’d size down. Enjoy them!!
