five secret beauty tips, plus two new products finds

When it comes to make-up and beauty, my morning routine is: how fast can I get ready while my husband is showering, daughter is running in and out, possibly in a ballerina outfit, while I’m racing to get out the door? Glam, I know. While I’m just an average girl in terms of knowledge in the make-up department I’ve definitely picked up a few great tips and tricks along the way that I’m excited to share with you here for a fun post with Revlon!  With summer here, now’s the time to switch up a few products to find what works best for you.

MUST-TRY TAGG ESSENTIAL BEAUTY TIPS:

1 // Lighten darkness on your eyelid (it’s there!): To get an all-over even skin tone, place foundation on your eyelid, not just under your eye. Yes, you can buy an eyelid primer but that’s another expense and time to swap the product in your hand. I now reserve that extra step if I know I have an ultra-long day. This neutralizes any blues, yellows, darker colors and undertones on your skin to make your entire eye look brighter, while also providing a better ‘playing field’ for your eye shadows. I was excited to see another beauty expert do this a few months back. It works.

2 // Opt for  BB Cream this summer! Speaking of foundation, skip a heavy one, particularly in the summer, and try a BB Cream like this Revlon Photoready. BB Creams provide broad spectrum coverage, have an SPF 30 (score!), moisturize and provide a lighter feel so you’re not walking around with a heavy feel. This one does it all. It’s been a great alternative to my heavier foundation, and if you want a little more coverage, layer the cream using your make-up sponge in those trouble spots, followed by a little spot conceal action. 3. // Concealer brush; you need it. Last word on creams, foundations and concealers: use a concealer brush to reduce redness around your nose, and even on the top and bottom of your lips. Making the switch from my ring finger to the brush resulted in a vast improvement. I also use the brush to apply concealer on my inner eyelid and gently brush down with it almost in a triangle direction (go past any dark spots), and then angle back up to the exterior edge of your eye.

4 // Enhance your eyebrows! This one is a big one, ladies.  Unless you have really dark eyebrows, consider filling them in and enhancing their color. They frame your face. Check out my before and after here. The only differences are my eyebrows, plus curled eyelashes with my fav new mascara (tip #5!).  Use a powder and an angled brush, a pencil (be really careful it doesn’t create any harsh lines) or whatever works for you. Regularly tweeze or wax to help create a strong shape.
5 // Curl those lashes and find a great mascara. Don’t be afraid of that crazy curling gadget… it instantly gives you the look of a few extra hours of sleep. And, this Revlon Lash Potion mascara is everything. Despite being obsessed with the packaging, I was initially hesitant to test because I don’t do ‘blackest black’ {I’m often the “dark brown” color} but I’ve been so wrong. The color is not overwhelming, and the brush really captured all of my lashes, seperated and extended… and it lasts. They’re “grow and luscious” is no joke, and clearly the word potion speaks truthfully of its magic! I’ve been using it every day and I’m a total convert.
