My name is Alyson and I’m addicted to wearing white year-round. I just can’t help myself. I know there’s that old rule about not wearing it after Labor Day but forget it, rules are made to be broken. As long as it’s styled the right way, it’s totally a yes! So when Target suggested I share a few looks showing how each of us can win in winter white, I was all for it — surprised I haven’t done this already. For this post, take out your riding boots — a winter staple — because I’m sharing three toppers for your white denim and boots.
First, a few tips: If you’re going for a crisp white, just be mindful of how it’s paired; style your white with jewel tones, earthy hues and it always works with a striking, classic contrasting black. You can also consider colors in the white family, so creams, beiges and anything similar. Have fun pairing your whites with leathers, embellishments, cable knits and furs. I could honestly put together dozens of looks. Thinking about it, a lot of it comes down to footwear; most of the looks below could easily be ‘summer-ized’ with flip flops, bright heels or espadrilles. Adding boots, booties and darker footwear instantly brings it into this season.
The three looks:
1. All white. I’ve been wanting to do this for ages, and this new creamy colored cable-knit sweater created the perfect platform to do so. Footwear wise, if I wasn’t wearing riding boots, I’d fully be in a pair of burgundy colored pumps or a great snakeskin print loafer.

2. Plaid blazer & riding boots. This is me going preppy! If you’re not feeling as adventurous with the plaid, pull out a navy, camel or black solid blazer to get the same effect. Swap out the camisole and play with jewelry to switch up the vibe.

3. Black & white (and brown!). Anyone who said black and brown don’t mix had it wrong… promise! I absolutely love this combo, and this might be the coziest outfit ever. If you’re hesitant about trying white for winter, pairing it with black is an instant classic. In lieu of boots, you can also pair it with black booties, flats or even a laced-up heel for a night out, and then pair it with a fab clutch (I’d love a pop of color!).

I’m a huge fan of wearing white year round. Winter white is gorgeous! All white, even better. For some reason people either love white, or hate it. Or make up excuses that they can’t wear it because it will get dirty. Well, sometimes I eat like a five year old, but I will never stop wearing white!
