beauty buzz: best facial moisturizers

September 22, 2014

With the weather starting to change in some climates, facial moisturizer is as important as ever to combat dry and dull skin. I’ve been on the hunt for a fantastic new option so I was thrilled when so many of you weighed in recently to TAGG’s impromptu Facebook poll inquiring about your favorite picks. The options run the gamut, from the classic to organic to more luxe finds you swear by. Must mention that three of you swear by pure coconut oil, which is said to absorb surprisingly well and is certainly an affordable, multi-tasking find that has so many benefits.

I started using the Cera Ve a few months ago and I really like it! I had previously been using the Clinique superdefense. I recently went to Hawaii, and had a travel-sized container of the Clinique superdefense that I chose to take with me. In the humid climate, the Clinique felt really greasy on my skin (and my skin is more on the dry side!) Just a heads up maybe try a sample if you can to see how it does in your lovely Florida climate :-)

Really good feedback, thanks Katie! Can definitely imagine how different climates impact the effectiveness of some of these products.

I use three different moisturizers and a facial oil. One is the Formula 10.0.6 mattifying moisturizer for my oily t-zone, then the Palmer’s Cocoa Butter Formula Skin Therapy Oil which is really hydrating, everywhere else. Then I use the Burt’s Bees Sensitive Skin night cream at night, and I have the Cetaphil moisturizer at work for when I forget to do my routine at home since it’s inexpensive and doesn’t irritate my sensitive skin. I also use Moroccan Rose Water as a toner before applying everything or the Lush Breath of fresh Air toner. My skin stays pretty clear, and feels moisturized but not greasy, which is a good thing.
