the new small ‘it’ bag

July 30, 2013

Ironic that when the post before this is all about saving or spending, we’re also showcasing the must-have small ‘it’ bag. While large totes are great, they can get hugely heavy (more space = more stuff), and clutches with no strap have become obsolete in my world: they’re challenging during a cocktail reception, dinner date, at a concert, or walking around a new city.

Enter: this small functional new bag. How fabulous are these? One of these works in all of these situations and transitions to nearly any environment. I find you can dress up a small strapped bag way easier than you can dress down a clutch in terms of functionality. Me carrying my daughter, groceries and a clutch? Hot mess. It’s for that reason I’m totally open to investing in a quality option like one of these three. While the first one — swoon! — is a major splurge, it’s just so gorgeous. However, these other two are less than half the price, and let’s be honest: not too hard on the eyes… that color/studs on the MK are killer, and I can’t stop eyeing the Coach with those tassels and that luxe classic camel hue!  Which hasyour vote?

I have recently decided to switch to a small bag as my everyday bag. While i’m impressed with all the stuff I have managed to get in there, I still long for a bit more space. these look like a perfect compromise!
(and seriously, clutches are pretty but also pretty ridiculous for most daily situations! I like ones with a convertible strap option, at least)

I almost bought the mini Lim today but decided to go in the middle and get a medium. I don’t care for the large size. I’m all for small bags lately, makes me carry less junk.

So sad about the Coach layoffs. Makes me want to show my support! Number 3 is super cute.
