Get Ready to Shred

January 13, 2012

If you follow me on Facebook you know I’ve mentioned the possibility of doing an official TAGG 30-day Shred program to help us all look and feel totally fab in the new year. Well mine came in the mail yesterday and I’m officially stoked to get started as of Feb. 1. Awesome women including Kimberly, Nicole, Lia, Emily, Ann, Rebecca and Jennifer have already committed to Shred with TAGG. Who’s else is joining??

Love having each other to keep us accountable throughout the month because seeing as it’s a video done in-home I’m so prone to slacking off and procrastinating. The accountability is one of the main reasons Weight Watchers was a success for me years ago (35 lbs gone in 2002-03!) so I’m confident this “TAGG team effort” is just what we need (yes, I’m officially a cheese)!

Let me know you’re doing it and I’ll stalk you if I think you’re slacking! OK, that might be challenging, but I’m pretty impressive at Jewish motherly guilt and I’m not too proud to throw around if I need to, hint, hint. Get Shred on Amazon for $6.99 and join TAGG on Feb. 1 to create the body, good health and overall good feelings about yourself in 2012 that you deserve. That Jillian Michael’s doesn’t mess around.

Sounds like a great idea! Just what I need to jump start a new fitness routine.

    • Alyson

Trish: you’re officially in then and on the hook! Woohoo!

I commend you on doing this. I did it for a couple days then injured myself to the point where I couldn’t breathe without my chest hurting ah! Best of luck!!

    • Alyson

Eeek, that’s a little alarming. I’m going to hope for the best. I hear it’s intense but maybe it’s what I need!

I actually bought this yesterday! I probably will start as soon is it arrives lets hope I can make it through it.

Hey, I’ve only had this DVD for a year and a half and it’s still in the wrapper….might as well bust it out for a good cause! Count me in!

    • Alyson

WOot, woot! I’m holding you to it. {I would have done the same had I not decided to do this for some insane reason}.

gah - I want to join you but between my trainer opening a new gym that I need to support AND training for the half marathon… not sure how much energy/time I can give to the 30 day shred!! :( boo. this sounds fun with you ladies.

    • Alyson

Sarah: it’s ok… Kimberly’s going to do another workout but stick with us for accountability. You should do the same (good luck on half marathon training; that’s awesome!).

Is it okay if I want to join you ladies for the accountability, but I do a different workout? I’m somewhat limited because of my bulging disc, but would love to get started on a daily regime! Let me know if you’ll include me & I’ll start with you on Feb 1st!! :)

    • Alyson

Bulging disc? :( I had no idea. Would definitely love to have on board for accountability purposes to help motivate and I’m game for any workout that works for you. Mark it on your calendar!

  • Christina

I did this when I was trying to lose my baby weight and it really worked! Take your measurements your first day and then at the end you will see your success. Good luck!

    • Alyson

That’s what I’m going to do, thanks! I’ve heard excellent things so if I don’t pass out on day one I’m in pretty good shape!

  • http://www.cardiganjunkie.com Haley @ Cardigan Junkie

As a shred veteran, I must warn you that if you are not already strong and in pretty good shape you will probably not be ready to graduate to workouts 2 and 3 after 10 days. You should not for one second feel bad about staying on Level 1 for more than 10 days, since it takes weeks to increase your upper body strength by leaps and bounds and true transformations don’t happen in one month. My 30 day shred turned into a 90 day shred with other workouts mixed in, and at the end I still couldn’t do the moves in workout 3 but was 12 lbs lighter.

That said… a lot of those pounds came back over the next 9 months so I’m back to strength training along with you!

    • Alyson

Haley: happy to have you on board and appreciate the wise words because I am a competitive spirit who might want to move along though might not be totally ready.

  • Jennifer Schiavon

Just ordered the DVD - I’m in!!

    • Alyson

      Woohoo! So glad to hear.

So I totally bought this DVD like 5 years ago and only used it twice :O How bad is that?! I started counting calories this week and I really should try to do this with you ladies. HOWEVER, I recently had to quit softball after over 20 years because I messed up my knees so I am not sure if I can physically do the video. I might as well try though!!

What a fun way to get everyone motivated for their New Years Resolutions!! I have tried to do the shred with my sister… Jillian is a tough chick. My own escape from it all has been Zumba… OBSESSED and it’s sooo fun!

Hmmmm….I think I might be interested in this! 1- I like that it starts February 1st, not January 1st- kind of like how I start my week (or begin to function) on Tuesdays as opposed to Mondays. #2- I just realized I stream the 30 day Shred video on Netflix. Very convenient! I can use the accountability too. I guess that means count me in! lol

    • Alyson

Woohooo, glad to have you on board!! It’s so great to have the accountability and I like that I had this month to get things settled. Get ready…!
