I’ve noticed more and more smart women rocking shorts for a night out. It’s just so hot and sticky in Florida — with restaurants still packed with outdoor seating — that denim or a maxi dress can make me go into gross sweat mode. Enter = shorts! Simple and genius.

Like I mentioned in Monday’s post, shorts have become a staple for me this season, great for every occasion. I found this pair recently at Target for a cool $19.99 — now on sale for $14,99 — and couldn’t resist. I grabbed this vest on the way to the fitting room, and bam, outfit! Don’t you love when the unexpected happens in the fitting room? This swingy moto vest, which I totally didn’t need, is my new favorite. I could easily layer it over a dress, wear with a tank and work-appropriate pants, and style it with denim for a night out (in the fall!). It’s just cool. Not to digress on the shorts, but did I mention they also come in solid hot pink and a solid bright blue, both with black piping? Very cool. They’re a lower rise so a drapy top that you can do a half tuck is ideal, and I’m also thinking these shorts could be perfect for any pregnant readers. The rise and elastic band in the back would be really comfy… and work post pregnancy.
