DIY: Nautical Earrings

July 4, 2012

Happy Fourth of July! Let’s welcome back Erin from Thanks, I Made It for a patriotic feeling DIY we can wear all-year long!

Hey TAGG-ers! Happy Fourth of July! With the season in full swing, I’m back with a 3-in-1 DIY project with a nautical and summery feel. They all are pretty much the same two steps- prep and glue! Be sure to hold down the earring backs firmly for several seconds when you glue them and let the glue dry completely before wearing (overnight, for good measure).
Also, a few tips on finding materials: The earring post backs (you’ll also need the backs to keep on your ears) and charms can be found at most any jewelry store. The shells came from my own collection, but you can get them at bead/craft stores. Finally, the frog closure (or knot cufflinks) are from a sewing notions and fabric store. If you can’t find them in gold, you could aways paint them yourself. Now for the how-to, I’ll let the pictures speak for themselves. Have fun and be sure to share with Alyson and me if you make your own!

I can’t believe Mother’s Day is this weekend! If you’re still on the hunt for the perfect Mother’s Day gift for your mama or you’re a guy scouring the web at the last minute for a thoughtful gift, here are a few ideas I’m loving. While any mom is sure to adore something purchased from a store, consider instead or add to a store-bought gift something special that a mom will cherish forever.
