bar cart inspiration

Ah, the illustrious bar cart. I don’t know the exact moment happened when I, a now mother or two who doesn’t even drink, felt absolutely compelled to have a bar cart in my home. It became a mission to not only find the perfect spot but to also find one at a killer price point. I saw this one at Target and soon so did the rest of the world. It’s been photographed everywhere, including a few images below, and is just pure magnificence. So when I told my Target friends about my love affair over pretty much everything Threshold, the line behind this gem, they offered to connect me to a designer. Gasp. This average gal with a crazy *lack* of penchant for anything design?! Sure! Sign me up. I’ll fill you in on that amazing interview soon enough however in the interim here’s some inspiration helping me fill up my bar cart (since it has to be relatively child friendly!).

In advance of sharing with you our updated office space — a project we’re wrapping up in partnership with Target x Nate Berkus — we’re compelled to share with you the major interior design inspiration that is Nate Berkus’ home with fiancé, Jeremiah Brent. {and, let’s just put it out there that they’re the cutest couple ever. award for that?}. We digress.  How amazing is their home?

What draws us to Nate and Jeremiah’s style is that it’s always totally cool yet comfortable and living in looking. This home, with its very neutral color palette, still has baskets filled with flip flops to encourage lounging, hanging towels, and pieces of personality to show the people behind the space. Get ready to soak this in, and check out the complete feature in Harpers Bazaar.

When it comes to home decor, West Elm, Crate & Barrel, and Z Gallerie are among TAGG favorites for home decor. They’re contemporary, on-trend (but not trendy) and all have a number of reasonable finds.  At the same time, you want to save when you can so I was pleasantly surprised by a new-ish-to-me-store, Kirkland’s, which had a lot of similar finds for less. Check out two lamp options below. The two on the top “Own” are rockin’ my world — hello, cork shade and a glass bottle base on the other. The bubble lamp on the bottom can be found all over now, but how pretty is this modern/vintage find?
