Sunday on Lincoln Road

February 25, 2013

This weekend, the husband and I escaped for about 24 hours to Miami. Target was presenting a Red Hot Night, a two football field-sized event in the sand as part of the South Beach Wine & Food Festival, which was so fun (lots of photos on Instagram)! On Sunday, we immediately fled to Lincoln Road for breakfast with new friends at Van Dyke’s and a stroll along the outdoor market. Lincoln Road is a street that years ago was closed off for more pedestrian-friendly activity. Restaurants now have massive amounts of outdoor seating (people watching central!), and every other week there’s an outdoor market with vintage and new jewelry, artwork, furniture and lots more. I found a beautiful bracelet and my husband came home with an original 1950s painting.

For the stroll, you’ll see a bit of everything when it comes to clothing (or, better yet, not much on at all!), however I opted for my new jeans, a cozy vest and my new earrings I want to sleep with I love so much. The day before I wore the vest with hot pink shorts, a white tee and the same black sandals, and Thursday night it was this earrings that took a black shirt and jeans to the next level for a girls night out.

Psst: marginally embarrassed I’m posting iPhone pics but it’s all I could muster up this week. And, I couldn’t risk loading up this tote with a big camera when there was the chance to walk out with goodies, could I? Still so sad I missed out on the gold/acrylic retro phone I Instagrammed. Sad face.

Your iphone pictures look 10X better than mine. Mine all come out orange for some reason. I wish Miami was in driving distance for us! I’ve been there twice (to go on a cruise) and it is so beautiful!

I love those kinds of shopping areas, always fun to visit, even the touristy ones.
Your turquoise earrings are so pretty, and your tote is beautiful. I hope you did manage to fill it with lots of goodies.
