Hey there! This week TJ Maxx tasked us #maxxinistas to style an outfit around leather. Umm, done. Even though it’s September and still upwards of 85 degrees in Florida, this girl couldn’t resist. Plus, I’ve had a million work events lately — breakfasts, Chamber lunches, evening receptions — so an on-trend fall look (in air conditioning!) is totally appropriate.
Quite a few leather pieces caught my eye, including a jacket I Instagrammed that I’m still majorly regretting not pulling the trigger on (hate that responsible side of myself! ha), however I knew this chic, light-weight tweed blazer with luxe leather detailing was the perfect piece to get me through the Fall. I know I can wear it to work like I styled here, but I’d totally wear it with a sexy cami and skinny denim for a night out. I’m really focusing on quality pieces like this — at excellent price points — that can elevate any look. Seriously: I’m only wearing a basic black cotton cami, and well, these new pant obsessions, and it’s this jacket that makes the look. It brings the whole thing together and gives it serious structure. Imagine it instead paired with a basic black cardigan; cute, but eh. This makes a statement.
Notice the hair up a lot lately? That’s called insanely busy/ lazy. I can’t decide which so I’m going to call it a toss up! I was browsing the beauty section at TJ Maxx and fully thinking that I need to integrate their styling tools into my life. For those looking for a bargain on quality: I was blown away at my TJ’s at the scope of the beauty section. Curling and straight irons, tons of brushes, product, you name it.
Speaking of which, question! TJ’s has a massive amount of designer fragrances at insane prices. Any recs?? I think I’m still owed a new fragrance from Valentine’s 2013 and need to bank on it before the next holiday rolls around. Help! Share your comments below.
PS: did I mention these dots are like velvet? Hope it’s not awkward that I can’t stop touching them! I had a tough time narrowing down how to style this blazer but am thrilled how this turned out. Any other ideas you suggest?
