Chalkboard Painted Pumpkin

October 27, 2012

I’ve been wanting to chalkboard paint something for ages. I think, I should chalkboard that wall, that cabinet, that glass bowl. It never ends so go figure that it’s a pumpkin that finally became my first chalkboard paint DIY.  It’s the perfect way to get creative for Halloween. You’ll need 24 hours for the paint to dry so plan ahead, however the fun is endless because you (and even your little ones) can have fun swapping out the messages, scary faces and more, for hours.

What You’ll Need
Pumpkin
Martha Stewart Chalkboard Paint (I purchased at Michaels Stores; lots of colors to select from!)
Chalk

Directions
Put on a thick coat of paint, ensuring you covered all of the orange. Wait at least one hour, and put on another thick coat. Wait at least 24 hours to dry. Draw!
TAGG Tip: be careful not to draw too hard on the pumpkin to avoid scratching.

I love the all black look, and that you can write whatever you want on it!
