Hi TAGG readers, Sarah from Chevrons & Stripes here covering for Alyson while she’s off on a well-deserved vacation! When Alyson first reached out to me about creating a budget friendly interior design themed post, I knew exactly what direction I wanted to go in. As a student, I’m certainly not making huge home investments every day or even every year, but I can be fickle and my style is constantly evolving. When a floor-plan switch up (which I do quite often – you can imagine how my fiancé loves that…) doesn’t satisfy my yen for newness, I find that the addition of a few little accessories can do wonders. Done right, accessories can really change the look and feel of a room without having to overhaul the big ticket items like furniture, rugs, etc. Here some favorite items at $100 and under to breathe a bit of new life into your space on a budget!
1| I am a sucker for all things John Derian and these sea plant coasters are no exception ($100), 2| this bronze objet can function as a stylish paper weight on your desk or coffee table ($20), 3| you can’t go wrong with a stripey pillow in a punchy color ($56), 4| from the master of pottery, Jonathan Adler, this pinch vase is perfect filled with blooms OR on it’s own ($78), 5| brass palm candlesticks bring a splash of Palm Beach chic to your dining table ($26), 6| this lacquered box has the effect of agate without the price tag ($86), 7| a rosy set of bookends will warm up even the barest of shelves ($75), 8| trays are great for organization and creating pretty vignettes around your abode – I’m currently loving this rattan one($42), 9| a turtle shell dish perfect for holding baubles ($78), 10| a unique kari herer print to spice up the walls ($30).
