Mid-Year Resolutions

July 10, 2012

Wow, can you believe that it’s July already? A little in shock that the year is half over so when Grace shared an update on her mid-year resolutions/summer to-do list I thought it was a perfect time to do some self reflection as well. I checked back at my New Year’s Resolutions and am pleased with some progress and have some goals for the rest of the year. I feel like the below list is completely reasonable to accomplish by the years’ end.

Find it important to take time in somewhat regular intervals to take a step back from life to truly evaluate where you are, where you want to be (both short- and long-term goals are key) and what your next steps are to get there. The goals I mention above are mostly smaller in scope but will help me get toward bigger ones. For example, honing my photography, HMTL and design skills will enable me to get this blog toward the vision I have for it.

Do you have — or will you create — some mid-year resolutions?

I completely love mid year resolutions because there isn’t the pressure to keep them like there is on January 1st. I am so much more likely to stick with something when I haven’t made a “resolution” on January 1st.

Great list!  Good luck accomplishing it all! xx

I always make my resolutions when school starts back. For me that’s the beginning of the year. And there’s just something great about back-the-school clothes, school supplies, fresh notebooks, and resolutions!

This is such a great idea, Alyson – and I love your list!  One of my goals for this year (once they kids start school) is to take a sewing class so I can learn how to do alterations myself, instead of spending so much at the tailor! :)

Ugh… can’t believe how fast this year is going. (of course I say that every year!) Love the idea of doing mid-year resolutions and I love your list. I need to be doing just about all of them too!

I love these resolutions – and can’t believe that the year is half over.  My birthday is July 2, so I always make birthday resolutions – this year’s are to get into a consistent workout routine, read more (we can keep each other accountable!), and improve my golf game.  I’ve been cooking more gluten-free dishes, let me know if you need any recommendations!

So nice to check in with your resolutions, I definitely need to do that as well… And we share a lot of the same goals! I know you can accomplish these by years end!

Great list of goals. I had lots of autoimmune issues until I got diagnosed celiac. Gluten free solved everything! It’s worth a shot to try for 30 days. That’s usually long enough to give your body a chance to heal. You’ll be able to tell pretty quickly whether it helps you or not.

Hey girl! It’s ALL about those small steps/goals to move toward the bigger ones! Kudos for taking that first step which is writing it down, posting it on your blog, and making yourself accountable. This is so inspirational and may need to do a similar post! :) Thanks!

This is such a wonderful idea…thank you for sharing. I’ve been felling a little down lately because I’ve been at a stand still with my goals. This is awesome…I will re-evaluate and make some mid-years resolutions :) !
