Happy Monday! In leiu of an style post from yours truly, I’m excited to introduce you to one of my blogger bffs, Megan, of TfDiaries, who knows how to rock an oversized piece like none other. I put on a baggy shirt and look like I threw on a bag, and she does it and rocks the heck out of it. Excited to share this post from her about how to pull off the look with total style. Without further ado…
Hi, TAGG readers! Billowy, draped and oversized pieces are yet another trend that plans on sticking around through Fall and there after, so it has some asking how to make the ‘oversized’ look chic and not like you just threw on a paper bag.
Proportions
Paying attention to proportions is key when playing with extra material, you don’t want to throw an oversized shirt over a pair of billowy harem pants because in most cases it leaves you looking larger and maybe even, sloppy (though I’ve seen it happen on the runway and I’m baffled). Stick to one oversized piece over a slimmer piece, for instance try a draped shirt over a pair of skinnies or even a pair of shorts, using your legs as the ‘slimmer’ piece.

Play With Texture
Chiffon is one of those universally flattering fabrics when it’s draped correctly, it has the ability to flow and move like some of the more ‘stiff’ fabrics can’t. So mixing up texture is another great way to play with oversized pieces, start off with a billowy chiffon dress and move forward going bold with knit sweaters over lace shorts.

Add Some Height
When adding bulk it’s always best to add a little bit of height to even the playing field. Especially when you’re on the more petite side like myself it’s always a good idea to wear heels to keep from looking stout, and potentially stocky. Plus heels always add a touch if chic, am I right ladies?
And most importantly, when it comes to wearing trends…
Wear It With Confidence
The most important key to dressing yourself. If you’ve already left the house and you’re not loving it, my best advice is to fake it until you make it, instead of tugging at it all day and feeling self conscious, wear it like you love it, and it will show.
I hope to see you all draping some fabulous styles this Fall! Thanks again to Alyson for having me and don’t forget to stop by TfDiaries to say hi! Xo.
