Must Read: 50 Shades of Grey

Two weeks ago, I was told to get my hands on 50 Shades of Grey, a steamy novel set in Seattle that is the first read for a new book club here. While I heard this was a ‘hot’ read, I had no idea what I was getting myself into. And, apparently I’m not the only one. The book is quickly becoming a must read, with a feature last week on the Today Show.

This first book (it’s part of a trilogy) enters into the bondage and sex-crazed life of mega-millionaire, Christian Grey, and the innocent, Anastasia Steele, who he simply cannot resist.  File this under ‘erotica’ if you want to speak in literary terms. File this under crazy-hot, totally-going-to-turn-you-on if you want to speak in truthful, TAGG terms. I couldn’t put my iPad down until I finished. It opens up your eyes to a world of dominance, subservience, the need for control and the interesting, intriguing dynamics of every relationship.

TAGG tip/confession: the steaminess of this book does more than make for a quick read. I can attest, along with other women, that this book has definitely spiced up my 7+-year marriage. Definitely. Most certainly.

    EVERYONE and their mother is talking about this book. Not my typical cup of tea but maybe I should give it a try… I said the same thing about the Hunger Games and ended up devouring them!

      Sarah: try it! This is definitely not my go-to genre nor is Hunger Games (which I LOVED!!) however I was immediately sucked in. Totally give it a try.

      It’s so amazing, right? Maybe it’s because I’m new to the genre, who knows, but it’s a lot of fun regardless! Tell your friends to get it on itunes or amazon. Much faster. :)

    I saw it on the Today show as well and downloaded the first book that morning. By Tuesday evening I had finished all 3 books. Loved it! I’m not usually into this genre, but I could not put it down.

    I picked this book for our newly established book club…..I have 20 new BEST FRIENDS now.  Everyone Loves it.  Each book just got better and better.  And NOW Universal bought the rights for a movie…..I am in Heaven.  We’re gonna start casting our picks at this Thursday’s meeting.

    I just started reading 50 last Monday, and already started reading book 3 last night. I can’t stop with the reading! Meanwhile, my husband has been inquiring if the book is “helping me out any” HAHAHAHAHA! I was initially sorta scared off by this book but now I find myself not wanting it all to end!
