What Length Is That?

December 9, 2011

{Keep reading below for the Shabby Apple giveaway winner!}

Do you feel like me when I see jewelry online that I half the time totally forget to look at the dimensions? It’s only taken me this many years to realize that yes, my wrists are kind of small, my knuckles are kind of big, and no, not all jewelry fits me.

Man, I thought they always sold jewelry and shoes were the one thing that always fit! Ha. That said, I’m totally loving this super easy necklace length visual I just spied on Pinterest.  I know not all of our necks are made the same (and hey, I swear my head is bigger than average. Most hats? Perch atop! No joke, kind of hilarious)… but at least this is a great starting point. Bookmark!

Looking for a new necklace? I love spots like J. Crew, BaubleBar, Loehmann’s, Nordstrom and more, yet I am also die-hard about the crazy affordable finds at Forever 21, which are currently an extra 30 percent off! These start at $3 and are all pretty much under $10!!!! Shopping there is the best way to test out a new look, experiment with bold colors, different color metals and chunky pieces that you/me might be way hesitant to spend big money on. Any of these necklaces would be stellar additions to any ensemble.

PS: remember that go-geous Shabby Apple dress I was giving away? It has a winner! Sending a huge mazel to Meg S! Contact me to averagegirlsguide@gmail.com.

    Love that two toned tiered necklace! Haha, I’ve never really paid attention to the dimensions either – there are times when I buy a necklace and realize it sits much higher on my neck than I pictured. That is such a great visual of the measurements!

    I saw that necklace chart on Pinterest too and it’s definitely handy as a quick reference, especially when buying online. I’m always finding the cutest necklaces for cheap at F21. I recently got one with little spikes and pearls that I’m loving. The cobalt cascading one you posted is so nice!
