Maya Brenner: Delicate Jewelry, Major Statement

I’m such a jewelry contradiction: I love major, bold, in-your-face statement necklaces and yet I find myself totally and utterly drawn to the most delicate ones you hardly notice. I’ve also considered since my daughter was born if I wanted a necklace with her name or initials yet never made the plunge. So when the Maya Brenner team offered to send me one of her gorgeous initial or state pendants, how could a girl refuse? This designer is majorly talented (also designs for Stella & Dot), has an impressive back story and is majorly loved by celebs.

After some debate, I got an S for my daughter’s name though it also works for my last name… and my company’s name. Triple score! It’s asymmetrical but I also wear it in the middle of my neck when my hair might cover it around my collarbone.

Gorgeous, right? Comes in all letters, plus she has a whole line of state pendants, which people go crazy for. Her fans include Eva Longoria, Rachel Bilson, Lauren Conrad, Reese Witherspoon, Anne Hathaway and Jessica Simpson, among others.

What makes want to support her even more? She’s a gal who went for it! A social worker who had a penchant for designing jewelry, she always did it just for fun until one day… no longer! Her mom loved her pieces and then she had a boutique who wanted to buy. With that, she started her business and now also creates for Stella & Dot. Amazing what happens when you follow your passion.
