Meet Ying. I know her as @cadrommy (you’ll have to inquire to her what her Twitter handle means!), one of the most amazing women I’ve met since my blogging adventure began almost a year ago. I have so much fun tweeting with her all the time… don’t even know where to begin how great I think she is! Actually, let’s start with how I have no clue she has time for it all: a day-job in corporate marketing, a mama to a six-year-old daughter and two-year-old son, and a blogger for the fabulous fashion blog, My Dressy Ways. What’s so great about her blog — at least to me! — is that her style is closely aligned with mine yet different enough that she’s always giving me new outfit inspiration. Major loves.
I also adore that we share a passion for PB and chocolate and… the all-mighty Nutella. She knows how to cook, though… she doesn’t love to do it. At least she likes to eat like I do! haha. However Ying comes armed with something I do not: a musical background! She played piano growing up and was in choirs through college. Cool! Think she got it from her good musical genes from her dad who taught himself to play the guitar, the harmonica and also sings. Wowza, impressive. Ready to hear more about Ying and her favorites? I know I am!!!
In her words, here’s Ying’s 5 must haves of the moment…
Hello TAGG readers! How excited was I when Alyson asked for my five must haves for The Average Girls Guide? So. Very. THRILLED! I love this blog and mostly, this girl! She’s thoughtful, smart and has impeccable taste! Plus, she once sold clothes to Plato’s Closet and then immediately went to eat sushi with her cash. That’s my kinda girl!
Seche Vite Dry Fast topcoat: If no one has told you about this, let me be the one! (Though apparently I was the last to know about this amazing topcoat.) I just started using this thanks to rave reviews in the blogger world and it is a time saver! I didn’t think a topcoat ($2.50) existed that could dry your nails THIS fast, despite a basecoat and a couple layers of color. Run (or click!) to get a bottle. Like, now.
My iPhone: I have told friends that I don’t care if someone took off with my purse – my purses aren’t designer and my cards can be cancelled, plus, I rarely carry cash. I might a have a dollar or two on a lucky day. But take off with my iPhone IN my purse? You bet I’ll coming after you. I’ve even had nightmares about losing it and damaging it. Ok. I admit it. I might be a LITTLE too personally attached to my iPhone.
Aquaphor: I started using this for my daughter who had extremely dry and itchy skin which all doctors diagnosed as ‘eczema’. We never found a prescription cream that would rid her of it. Since I started using this ($14) on her right after a bath, her eczema isn’t completely gone, but it doesn’t flare up as badly as it used to. It was so bad that she would cry and ask why she had to have such bad skin. (Broke my heart.) My husband who also has ‘eczema’ uses this now in place of his prescribed creams that never seemed to rid him of skin irritations. I use it on my lips in the morning and at night as well as on my feet, hands and elbows to soften my skin. During cold season, I even use it on noses that are irritated from so much wiping. We use it by the tubs in my house!
Matrix Vavoom Freezing Spray: Genetics, age and having two kids is working against me keeping the long healthy hair I used to have. For some reason, the front part of my hairline will not grow out so I have a lot of baby hairs to tame. This hairspray ($15) is a miracle worker. It tames all my stray hairs and keeps them in place all day without feeling hard and sticky. I’ve been using it for years and although I’ve tried different products to replace it, I haven’t found anything that works as good as this.
Cream cheese: A food item that can work in just about anything! I love it on a bagel. I love cheesecake. Cream cheese compliments dips and casseroles, cakes, bars and cookies. Even pancakes. I love a cream cheese frosting on carrot cake, red velvet cake and there is a local bakery that makes THE most divine sweet potato cake with cream cheese frosting, ever. Have I mentioned I love to eat?
Thank you so much Alyson for the opportunity to guest post on your blog! Hope you’ll visit me on My Dressy Ways!
